Publish a status page maintenance
A status page maintenance is the customer-facing notice for planned work. It appears on your public status page, marks the components it covers as under maintenance instead of down, and emails your confirmed subscribers when you schedule it, when it starts and when it ends.
Schedule one
Section titled “Schedule one”-
Open the status page and go to the Maintenance tab.
-
Click Schedule Maintenance.
-
Enter a Title (for example
Database migration) and an optional Message that says what visitors should expect. -
Set Scheduled Start and Scheduled End. The end must be after the start.
-
Under Scope, pick Whole page, or Specific monitors and choose the affected checks. There is no default.
-
Save. Confirmed subscribers get an email, unless they chose not to hear about maintenance or about these checks.
curl -X POST https://api.siteqwality.com/status_page/$STATUS_PAGE_ID/maintenance \ -H "Authorization: Bearer $SITEQWALITY_API_KEY" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{ "title": "Database migration", "body": "The API will be read-only for about 30 minutes.", "scheduled_start_at": "2026-11-06T02:00:00Z", "scheduled_end_at": "2026-11-06T02:30:00Z", "affected_http_job_ids": ["<http-job-id>"] }'Name the scope in every create and update: list at least one monitor in affected_http_job_ids, or send "whole_page": true with no ids. Sending both, or neither, returns 400. The response includes whole_page.
What visitors see
Section titled “What visitors see”- Before the start time, the maintenance is listed as scheduled.
- When the start time passes, the page shows it as in progress and the components it covers show Maintenance instead of an outage. A maintenance for the whole page (
whole_page: true) shows the whole page as Under Maintenance. - When the end time passes, it drops off the page.
You do not have to move it by hand. To start early, set the status to in_progress. To finish early, set it to completed.
Subscribers
Section titled “Subscribers”Confirmed subscribers who take maintenance notices get three emails: one when you create the maintenance, one within a minute of the start time, and one within a minute of the end time. Starting or completing it by hand sends the same start or end email. Editing it sends nothing, and a maintenance you complete before it started sends no start or end email. If the plan changes, create a new maintenance or post the change as an incident update.
A subscriber who chose specific components gets these emails only when the maintenance covers one of them, or covers the whole page. See who gets which notice.
Change or cancel it
Section titled “Change or cancel it”Edit it from the Maintenance tab, or with PUT /status_page/{id}/maintenance/{maintenance_id} (send the full body, including status and the scope: whole_page or affected_http_job_ids). Delete it with DELETE on the same path.
